Sandy Roberts brings more than 35 years of fundraising experience as a senior manager and frontline fundraiser to her consulting with moss+ross. Her skills include major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, stewardship, event management, board development, alumni engagement, and volunteer engagement.

Sandy came to moss+ross after five years with Penn Medicine Princeton Health where she developed fundraising strategies for service lines and expanded the grateful patient program in collaboration with clinical staff.  Prior to that, she was at Columbia University where she served as the major gifts team leader for Arts and Sciences during the public phase of a $5 billion University-wide campaign. While at Columbia Business School, Sandy gained extensive experience in international fundraising while making frequent trips to Europe and India. Sandy was able to fulfill her personal and professional interest in theological education by serving as Vice President of Development and Church Relations for two Presbyterian seminaries.

She spent the first twenty years of her career at Duke University which gave her a strong foundation for annual fund and major gift fundraising. She specializes in prospect management, faculty engagement, and donor cultivation strategies.

A native of West Virginia, Sandy graduated from Converse College with a BA in political science and a MEd in secondary education.  She earned a Masters of Divinity from Duke University.

Sandy is on the Board of the Durham Literacy Center and a volunteer at Lakewood Elementary School.  She is a former trustee of Triangle Day School. Sandy is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Durham where Sandy has served as an elder.

Sandy and her husband Tom live in Hillsborough.
