Kathryn Williams, Senior Associate

Kathryn joined moss+ross in 2016 and has over 29 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, grant writing, prospect research, case and marketing materials development, event planning, and consulting.

An excellent writer, Kathryn specializes in helping her clients identify and prioritize prospective corporate and foundation donors and submit grant proposals.  With her extensive knowledge and network of relationships in the Triangle philanthropic community, she also helps clients develop effective engagement and solicitation strategies for potential donors.  Prior to joining moss+ross, she was an independent fundraising consultant, Associate Director for Community Development at the YMCA of the Triangle, and Director of Marketing, Operations and Publications at Capital Development Services.

Kathryn grew up and lives in Raleigh with her husband, Murray, their daughter, Caroline, and both of their extended families.  She is a 1990 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wake Forest University, with a Masters degree in Psychology from the College of William & Mary.  She is a Sustainer and sings in the Junior League of Raleigh Chorus.  A member of Christ Church, she has served on the Development Committee and Board of the Triangle Community Foundation and the Advisory Board of Camps Seafarer and Sea Gull, as well as the Richard Jenrette Teaching Excellence Award Selection Committee for Needham Broughton High School.

Fun fact:  Kathryn played the role of Marian the Librarian in Broughton’s ‘The Music Man’ and sang lead vocals in the Heart of Carolina Jazz Orchestra. She has sung at the weddings and funerals of numerous relatives and friends over the years.
