Emily Bruce, Senior Associate, executive search lead
Emily Bruce joined moss+ross in 2020 with more than two decades of leadership experience in arts and cultural institutions. She enjoys strategic planning and developing strong board and team relationships to advance the mission of organizations. She has extensive fundraising experience cultivating corporate partnerships, creating annual fund structures and executing mission-focused events.
Since joining moss+ross, Emily has been fortunate to receive in-depth training and mentoring in executive search from Fred Stang, former director of search for moss+ross. She quickly found a passion for helping Triangle nonprofits leverage leadership transitions for positive change now and in the future. Prior to joining moss+ross, she was VP of Development at Marbles Kids Museum where she spent a decade cultivating a culture of playful philanthropy that more than doubled contributed revenue. She was instrumental in planning for a $30 million renovation and expansion, leading government relations efforts in the first phase of funding requests. Prior to Marbles, Emily advanced local philanthropic support for the performing arts, first at North Carolina Theatre and later at North Carolina Symphony. She was also a proud member of the team who relocated and expanded the Children’s Museum of Richmond in 2000. Emily has a Master of Public Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Bachelor of Science in History, Technology and Society from Georgia Tech and is a proud graduate of Enloe High School in Raleigh. |
Fun fact: Emily spends as much time as possible in her backyard garden and recently added beekeeping to her too long list of outdoor hobbies.
