Deborah Thompson, Associate
Deborah Thompson is an Associate at moss+ross with more than 15 years of experience in university and education fundraising, volunteer management, campaign strategy and prospect research. Deborah joined moss+ross in 2019 after extensive campaign experience at UCLA Anderson School of Management, UCLA School of Nursing, and Ravenscroft School.
Deborah has served as a moss+ross Interim Solutions Contractor as the Director of Development for Housing for New Hope and as the Campaign Manager for the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. Deborah’s expertise ranges across every facet of nonprofit development
– from facilitating development assessments and solicitation strategy to campaign planning and management.
Deborah holds a B.S. in Communications from McDaniel College. She has served on the Board of the Heritage Hills Recreation Club, and regularly volunteers with her church at the Inter-Faith Council’s HomeStart program.
Deborah lives in Chapel Hill with her husband, Patrick, daughter, Olivia, and their two dogs, Birdie and Moo. When not working with moss+ross clients, she can be found exploring the many hiking trails and small towns that North Carolina offers.
Fun fact: Deborah lived in Los Angeles, CA for ten years prior to moving to NC. Her “star sighting” experiences include crossing paths with Jack Nicholson, Shirley MacLaine, Jack Black, David Spade, Patrick Dempsey and Chris Cornell – just to name a few!
