SAFEchild

Our longtime client SAFEchild fulfilled a bold dream of building a new home to address our community’s urgent need to increase services for child abuse prevention, intervention, and education. It has been an honor to be a part of the Champion Our Children Campaign, which raised $11,105,000, surpassing its $11 million goal, with generous gifts from 425 donors between the fall of 2021, when the campaign launched, and its completion in early 2024.

moss+ross was first hired to assist SAFEchild with developing a new strategic plan for the organization in 2016. To fulfill the vision as the lead child abuse prevention agency for Wake County, SAFEchild set a goal to unify and upgrade its two current facilities to better utilize staff, be more accessible and visible to the community, and better accommodate the demand for programs and services. The Board retained moss+ross for a feasibility study and then campaign counsel for what became the $11M Champion Our Children capital fundraising campaign for a new building and expanded services.

Staff moved into a new 20,000 square foot building in October 2023 built on land donated by WakeMed Health & Hospitals, another moss+ross client. SAFEchild immediately began expanding programs and impact by reaching more children and families in our community.
