Beverly Thompson is a seasoned communications professional with more than 35 years of professional experience focusing on strategic and crisis communications.

As the former Communications Director for the City of Durham, Beverly provided strategic guidance to executive level staff and elected officials to help them reach their audience with the right messages at the right time in the right way. This guidance has often included local, state and national media relations, especially during time of crisis, with the main goal of reputational management for the organization.

While Beverly’s expertise is in identifying and managing potentially negative issues with leaders, she also focuses on crafting messages and storytelling on various media, including digital media.

At her core, Beverly believes that relationships matter and are at the foundation of successful communication projects.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Beverly lives in Hillsborough with her husband and rescued fur baby, Miss Lucy.

Fun Fact: Beverly is learning how to garden with guidance from her 85-year-old, green-thumbed mother. She describes her experience as “learning from the ground up, and she’s still on the ground.”
