Mental Health Awareness month acknowledges the importance of mental health and reducing the stigma of mental illness. moss+ross is proud to support the following clients whose nonprofit missions are dedicated to mental health support.
Camp Corral offers summer camp for children of wounded or fallen military personnel. At camp, children have the opportunity to connect with peers and non-parent role models – social connections that are critical to mental health. Parents of campers report positive impact on their child’s mental health and noticeable improvement in their child’s confidence. moss+ross has provided strategic and fundraising planning, interim staffing, and led executive searches for a new CDO and CEO.
Durham Public Schools Foundation is teaming up with Duke Health and Durham Public Schools to launch the WHOLE Schools Movement – a multi-year initiative to support Wellness, Healing, Opportunity, Learning, and Equity for public school students, teachers, and staff. moss+ross is providing campaign counsel to DPS Foundation as it raises $3.5M to support innovative approaches to school-wide strategies; distribute school-level grants and emergency funds for urgent district-wide needs; and provide no-cost events promoting wellness and healing to the broader Durham community.
Foundation of Hope (FOH) invests in groundbreaking research and mental health initiatives. moss+ross is honored to partner with FOH as it launches the Campaign for CHAAMP (Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program), a $5M dollar campaign to transform the way we understand, prevent, and treat these illnesses. Child and adolescent mental health has reached a point of unparalleled crisis. CHAAMP is a beacon of hope and response to this urgent need.
NAMI Wake County provides support, education, and advocacy to individuals, families, and communities facing mental health challenges. NAMI Wake is
committed to diminishing the stigma and improving access to resources so that those affected by mental illness feel welcome in the community. We are working with NAMI leadership on their next strategic plan.
NC Child supports and protects children’s mental health and development through parent- and family-centered programs of prevention, promotion, early identification, and appropriate intervention. moss+ross is engaged to help with NC Child’s next strategic plan.
In addition to these clients focused specifically on mental health, many of our other clients offer services and programs that contribute to better mental health. The moss+ross team has the privilege of working alongside all of our nonprofit clients so they can better serve our community.
